Shamelessly stolen from Tenth Muse, with a few modifications (f’rinstance, I think reduced-fat cheese is an unholy blasphemy that makes Baby Jesus weep).Apple Feta Salad
Ingredients
4 cups of romaine and mixed greens
3 oz. of grilled chicken breast, cubed
4 tbs feta, crumbled
2 tbs. of craisins
1/8 cup thinly sliced red onion
2 tbs. chopped walnuts
½ small Anjou pear, chunked
1 small Gala apple, chunked
cracked black pepper to taste
raspberry vinaigrette dressing
Directions
Duh, it’s a salad. Just chuck all the stuff in a bowl, slop on the dressing, and give it a few good tosses. And the measurements are really just guidelines, I wouldn’t expect any sane person to actually measure.

GOD DIARYLAND IS SO FUCKING RETARDED.I added my entry and it fucking got eaten, so I added it again, and now they're BOTH showing up as a double-post but neither one of them is in the queue so I can't delete one of them and AAARGH!!!
This is why I decided against the guest-posting thing. I might give it a try whenever Diaryland starts being powered by something better than a fucking HAMSTER WHEEL.

From The Telegraph:The heart, encased in a glass egg and in size and appearance resembling a dried mushroom, was on display yesterday in the church of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, opposite the Palais du Louvre, and formerly the parish church of the kings of France.

The Friday 5 lives! Kind of. Thanks to fondofelves for the link.1. Where were you went you heard that Ronald Reagan died? At home. I was idly channel-surfing and paused on CNN, and they were breaking the story.
2. Where were you on September 11, 2001? At home. I always turn the Tv on the local news and the first thing I saw was footage of the first tower collapsing. I was still half-asleep and I at first I couldn't comprehend what I was seeing. Then I panicked, because my brother Rian lives in New York City. But I was able to get through to my mother, who had already spoken to him, and she told me he was at home and he was fine.
3. Where were you when you heard that Princess Diana died? I was visiting the 'rents. We were eating dinner when my brother Rian called and said to turn on CNN. I knew right away someone had died, at first I thought someone had shot President Clinton or something, because he sounded so shaken.
4. Do you remember where you were when you heard Kurt Cobain had died? I was at my boyfriend's house, we were watching MTV when Kurt Loder broke in with the news. I was really shaken; later, when I was driving home, I had to pull off the road because I was crying and couldn't see.
5. Take one for The Gipper: What's your favorite flavor of jelly bean? I am one of those feaks who eats everyone's black licorice jelly beans.

The world loses a legend: Ray Charles, 1930-2004.I was surprised to hear he was only 73. I thought he was at least 80. He always seemed old to me, even 20 years ago. I don't mean he seemed frail or that he wasn't energetic, he just had this wise air about him that usually only comes with age.
Well, he's playing at that big jukejoint in the sky, now.
